From some reflections (e.g. Vitalik’s) one of the needs of the OP governance development touches Citizen House scaling. The number of Citizens have grown over time from 30 to almost 200 in the recent round. Still it’s far from the real citizenship scale, with a goal of achieving say 1000 citizens requires more advanced approaches. Of course there’re challenges of maintaining good quality and avoiding centralisation. Some of the before-named criteria include:
- Has this person shown strong alignment with the long term growth of the Optimism ecosystem and the mission of the Collective?
- Can this person help advance the process and structure of retroPGF as a funding mechanism?
- Is this person a domain expert in any of the categories up for funding in RetroPGF?
Recent grant program supported a number of governance solutions, also touching this issues (like RegenScore or Praise). The dedicated conversation was initiated on the forum, that also highlighted the concerns of potential plutocracy or alignment with the OP ecosystem.
In order to advance this dialogue we’d like to invite an open conversation among OP citizens, team and community members, including but not limited to:
- Griff Green (citizen)
- Tamara Helenius (citizen)
- OPuser (citizen)
- CryptoReuMD (citizen)
- jackanorak (citizen)
- Jonas (OP Labs)
- Max Semenchuk (Regen Score)
- kristofer & parrachia (Praise)
