Open Space (Technology) is a simple way to run productive meetings, for 5 to 2000+ people (or run it online). It has a powerful approach to leadership in any kind of organization, in everyday practice and turbulent change. Our Trusted Seed unconference was organized under the Open Space framework.
When to use
- To increase engagement in the community.
- Collect intelligence and raise awareness – when all is clear no need during the Unconference.
- Offline is a more often used case for groups, providing you have a big enough venue and can get everyone there. Works much better with offline / retreat in the mountains kind of vibe.
- Online – is the most accessible (incl. economically) way to organize. It requires some onboarding, but then can become a long-play support to the community.
How to use
- Define a clear and compelling theme.
- Collect an interested and committed group.
- Organize the time and space.
- Lead like a servant leader.
What you get
- “Magic” – people bring their own gifts, make friends and partners easily.
- Organic engagement and self-organization.
- Tons of content and activities (and more in the Backlog).
- Network Ambassadors and fans.
