In its original, minimalist — and admittedly rather lacking — formulation by Kevin Kelly, Protopia is simply a term that denotes the gradual improvement of society over time, without claiming either perfection or the reaching of a point of stability.
Our Protopian vision was based on two key trends: our ability to organize inside and to connect outside. We used the Playa concept from Burning Man as an example of the interactions we wanted to create, and Metamodernism as a guiding philosophy.
In addition to this vision, Monika Bielskyte's description of Protopia and its framework inspired us to shape the main question that we attempted to answer during our Unconference experience and through this report:
What kind of actionable frameworks can we set to achieve transformation (on a personal, organizational and social scale — and build Protopian futures?
We consider that stewards (servant leaders, community managers, HR personnel, coaches, and facilitators) are the key to making this vision a reality. Given this, we believe that the time has come for web3/DAO stewards to develop their leadership skills, with the assistance of Angels (founders and sponsors) in our ecosystem.
We organized the Trusted Seed Unconference to bring as many as them together and support their development (your development) as future leaders of a Protopian world.
